Absolutely not! We take pride in using luxury formulas that we custom blend to your skintone and undertone. All tans should result in a natural brown glow that fades seamlessly.
- In studio appointments should take 15 minutes once a session has started. We custom blend for each appointment as well as provide complimentary drying powder.
- Mobile appointments should take about 30 minutes due to transporting of equipment.
Our custom spray tans last 7-10 days if you follow our post tan care instructions. We use custom blended, luxury solutions that fade seamlessly with proper aftercare. This is a guideline as everyone's skin is different and hormones and post activities play a huge role in how long it will last. A tan may develop differently during hormonal changes like ovulation, menstruation, or pregnancy. Your tan may be streaky or patchy. It may also cause color to fade faster or produce lighter to no color at all. This is something we do not have any control over.
- Overnight solutions require you to wait 8-12 hours before you rinse, NO SOAP!!
- Our rapid solution contains the strongest DHA percentage on the market and requires rinsing within 20 minutes to 4 hours MAX.
- Please follow instructions on rinse time for best results.
- Pat to dry, do not rub.
No. We recommend you do not work out until after 24 hours from your appointment. Your tan will not be fully developed until the 24 hour mark. Once your tan is developed you can workout. Your tan may rub off on areas that have sweat and friction. If you workout on a regular basis please ask about our sweat proof tan solution.
- If you use AHA or BHA skin care products you need to stop several days before your tan. Accutane can cause your tan to develop unnaturally and fade quickly. Anti acne and anti aging products can cause your tan to look blotchy. Dove, Oil of Olay and Native brands should not be used to prep for your spray tan or during your tan. We retail a variety of spray tan friendly bodycare products that will extend the life of your tan.
- If you have a waxing or mani/pedi appointment please schedule them 24 hours prior to your tanning session. Products are used in these appointments that will strip tan off of the hands/feet or the tan may not develop directly on areas that have been waxed the same day.
Sunburns and spray tans do not mix! A spray tan will make your skin peel, exposing fresh skin and cause the spray tan to look patchy and uneven. Do not schedule a spray tan if you have a burn. Please know that if your burn is less than six weeks old your tan may develop unevenly, showing the lines of your burn. Please let us know if you have a recent burn so we can discuss the situation and decide on the best plan for you.
Two days prior is the best time for your appointment but we understand that is not always possible. If you can't schedule two days prior please reach out to us and we will help you figure out the best time for your situation.
Yes, but we ask you to consult with your doctor for approval.
Tan Care
- Shower, exfoliate and shave at least 4-6 hours before your appointment. It is important not to do so any closer to the appointment time, as this can significantly impact the outcome.
- To exfoliate properly, start by taking a regular shower, shaving, and washing your hair as you normally would. Once you've completed these steps, use exfoliating mitts or gloves to gently scrub your entire body in circular motions, without any product on the mitt - just water. The goal is to remove dead skin, oil and moisturizers from your body wash, and any remaining old tan, if necessary. A loofah is not recommended as it does not provide effective exfoliation. If you don't have exfoliating mitts or gloves, a wet washcloth can be used as an alternative.
- After you've finished exfoliating, rinse off and avoid applying any lotions or products to your skin. We retail gentle exfoliating mitts as well as a tan remover to remove any leftover tan from your previous appointment.
- We have wipes available for you to remove deodorant and makeup before your appointment. You'll need clean, fresh skin. You do not have to go all day without deodorant.
- Remove your jewelry prior to your appointment.
- Wear loose dark clothing and loose shoes. Flip flops are best. No leggings, sports bras over your head or tight jeans, etc. A dress is not recommended unless you want to spend the day making sure your legs do not touch.
- The type of solution you are tanned with will determine how long you will have to wait before getting wet. It varies from 20 minutes to 12 hours. Your tan needs time to set and during that time you will not be able to get wet. That means no shower or exercise. You do not want to sweat off the solution or cause streaking so please do not plan to participate in outdoor events before your rinse time.
- Women may tan completely nude. Men are required to wear underwear or shorts. Anyone under 18 must wear undergarments.
- In the event there is rain please be prepared with an umbrella, long pants, socks, and shoes.
- Your first shower should be a rinse only. Use your hands like a washcloth and gently go over your entire body to remove the bronzer. DO NOT USE SOAP DURING THE FIRST 24 HOURS.
- Avoid using loofahs, washcloths and any body washes with an exfoliant during the life of the tan. That means soap on your hands only.
- Use a mild and moisturizing shower gel. DO NOT USE DOVE, OIL OF OLAY, NATIVE or any exfoliating body wash. Do not use bar soap unless it is one of the ones we retail. Regular bar soaps are known to fade spray tans. Our soaps have been formulated specifically to promote the longevity of your tan.
- You may shave but the more you shave the quicker your legs will fade.
- Moisturize your skin daily, more than once a day if possible.
- Pat your skin dry. Never rub your skin with a towel as it can rub the tan off.
- Moisturize daily and shower with a mild shower gel or one of our retail soaps! No loofahs or washcloths.
- If you are planning to swim in the pool or hot tub be sure to get in and out, repeat. The longer you soak in warm water, the more your tan will fade.
- Applying a waterproof lotion sunscreen during pool or hot tub time will help protect your tan from fading.
- Spray tans will not protect you from the sun. Wear sunscreen!
- Avoid waxing if possible. Once your tan starts to fade you may exfoliate and scrub to remove what remains on your skin. We retail an amazing tan remover that is great to use to remove tan remnants before your next appointment.
